Market-driven Transport Solutions from Everstar Industries (Pty) Ltd
As a local leader in the development, manufacture, supply and support of heavy-duty trucks and yellow equipment, Ever Star Industries (Pty) Ltd has vast expertise in supplying application-specific vehicles for diverse operating environments around Africa.
The holding company of Powerstar, Ever Star Industries (Pty) Ltd has grown in success in South Africa and Sub Saharan Africa over the past seven years, “Our head office is anchored in Centurion and assembly plant in Pietermaritzburg, Kwa-Zulu Natal. Beiben, the Powerstar OEM is based in China and has more than 20 years of development and manufacturing experience. Beiben continuously consults with our South African operation to ensure that our technical end designs and products are fit for the local harsh working conditions” says Ever Star Industries CEO Bob Wang.
The Powerland truck range complements Powerstar and increases the range of heavy and extra heavy duty commercial trucks available to this market. NHL (rigid mining dump trucks) and Shantui Construction Equipment have also appointed Ever Star Industries as its sole distributor for their respective product ranges. Ever Star Industries now represents four brands under its umbrella. Wang continues, “These products are all complementary and we now provide a “one-stop” shopping experience for our customer base by supplying them with a wider variety and/or range of construction, mining, long haul, warehousing, forestry etc. vehicles and/or equipment to satisfy their every need. Ever Star Industries will be on a major drive to market these products and are firmly committed to improving customer service, relationships and communication”
The Powerstar credence “TRUCKS BUILT TO LAST” applies to the entire product range consisting of 4x2, 4x4, 6x4, 6x6 and 8x4 chassis cabs and truck tractors with a power range of 270, 280 290, 350, 420, 460 hp. Known in the industry as no-frills workhorses, the simplistic design features and ease of maintenance make these ruggedly reliable, ideal for short, medium and long distance operations in tough and remote terrains. In the past twelve months, Powerstar also expanded its geographic footprint and increased its cross border sales and relationships to other African countries. It currently has a comprehensive and dedicated dealer network in many Southern African countries, and has also opened a central parts distribution hub at its Centurion operation in Gauteng, South Africa.
This allows Powerstar to supply directly to its inland dealer network and customers with more speed and efficiency. Its main and larger central parts distribution hub, at its assembly plant in Pietermaritzburg, distributes to its coastal dealer network and both these distribution hubs supply cross border.
Ever Star Industries have also undertaken a major drive to enhance and improve their management systems including obtaining ISO accreditation, reducing costs and increasing efficiencies. Health and safety remains its number one priority followed extremely closely by quality and pricing of their product offerings. They offer keen prices, add-ons and services which will ultimately benefit the customer with a lower cost of ownership.
“With the economic challenges we face, Ever Star Industries will remain fully committed to the local market as we believe in our products, have the support of our shareholders and remain a force to be reckoned with. We are optimistic about 2017 due to an increase in our product ranges, an expected increase in sales, as well as an improvement in our aftermarket experience and service to our customers” concludes Wang.
