Ever Star Industries (ESI) celebrates 10 years of success in South Africa this year. With a new logo to mark the occasion, 2020 will all be about refreshing, renewing and refocusing the company.

In 2020 ESI will create new sales and pricing policies; restructure its marketing department; introduce new products; assist its dealers to use the Auto Marshal app; set up a general parts department and strengthen its after sales offerings.

The dealership network will continue to be developed. A dealer standards policy will be developed and introduced to better assess dealer performance levels. Monthly and annual dealer performance reviews will be performed, and general customer orientation improved.

In 2020 ESI will build on its online business and expand its general parts division. It will tap further into the long-haul and distribution segments with the extra-heavy Powerstar V3 and FT range of light and medium-duty vehicles.

In terms of the long-haul V3 model, Powerstar will focus on non-PTO applications and work to provide in-house finance solutions, as well as a competitive maintenance plan. The V3 demo fleet continues to grow, while driver training is provided on each demo vehicle handover.

Powerstar achieved 4.2% total market share in 2019.

The brand was the second best-selling brand in the overall construction sector, capturing 22.6% market share. It’s 2628 tipper was the number one selling vehicle in the construction industry for the year.

The brand sold more truck tractors in 2019 than 2018, with total Powerstar truck sales totalling 582 units. Powerstar increased its total truck tractor sales in 2019 by 178%, while freight carrier sales rose 32.4%. Total FT sales for 2019 came in at 135 units, a 204% increase compared to 2018. R68 million was recorded in total parts sales for the year.

The KZN province was ESI’s biggest market in 2019, followed by Gauteng and the North West provinces. ESI has set ambitious sales targets for 2020: 800 Powerstar units (600 VX units and 200 V3 units) and 180 units for the FT range.

The company also desires R90 million worth of total parts sales this year.
